Images is very important in making website. with image you can tell everyone more detail about what you are writing. Like some people said that an image contains thousands of words. But if you are going to make a website contains of images, the main problem is where to put all your images, because images takes more space than an essay (we are talking about people who host their website on a hosting company, not for them who had their own server in their room). A good quality photo sometimes can take more than 500 Kilobytes, and a 1000-words essay will not bigger than 100 Kilobytes in size.

There are 2 options where to put your images. The first one is to host your images in your server, and the second is to put them in an image sharing sites.

Hosting images in your server

pros:

1. you can manage your image easily because its your server, and you have full access for it.

2. your images will have the same uptime with your website, better than when your website up but your images can’t be seen because the image’s server is down.

3. You will not lost your images, if you host it in an image-sharing sites, it might be lost because they host so many images.

Cons

1. You will get your file for backup become bigger, because everytime you backup your site, you must download all the images.

2. You have to rent a bigger space of hosting, or your images can’t be host there.

Put them in an image-sharing website

pros

1. You will not lose any server space for images because your images hosted in the other server.

2. Some image-sharing websites have a good bandwith so your visitors can load your images fastly.

cons

1. Sometimes you didn’t get full control for it, like rename, move, etc.

2. If there’s a problem with your image-sharing website, so you must replace the code for your image one by one, from the first post of your website.

So by the pros and cons of each options, you can choose whether to host your images in your server or put them in an image-sharing website.
